About Melissa
My journey to holistic living began in my early 40’s as a result of decades of digestive and skin problems. After both of my kids were diagnosed with gluten intolerances at very young ages, I gained a deep desire to understand my own health issues and how they may have contributed to their intolerances. My quest lasted for several years and through seeing many different mainstream doctors. It was not until I found a functional medicine doctor who discovered that I have two auto-immune diseases, Celiac and Hashimoto’s. I also had an overabundance of candida that caused a gut flora bacterial imbalance which was the main culprit of my skin issues.

Through the guidance of this doctor, I began understanding how important nutrition, mindfulness and balance is to our wellness. I grew a deep desire and determination to heal myself and to prevent these conditions from affecting my children. This desire led me to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I earned my certification as a Holistic Health and Wellness Coach. During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts.
As a result of my education, my health and the health of my family has been transformed. My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results. I have helped my clients achieve their wellness goals and it has been a more fulfilling passion than I ever thought possible.
